Tandoori Chicken Tikkas

Traditionally, we prepare tikkas by roasting the marinated chicken in a clay oven, but with this recipe you can bring the smoky flavour of the tandoor into your own kitchen. Ingredients to make Tandoori chicken tikkas:

500 g Boneless chicken, cubed or cut into small tikkas/cubes
½ cup plain yoghurt/dahi
2 tbsp Vegetable oil
Ginger-garlic paste

4-5 tsp

Steps to make Tandoori chicken tikkas:

Marinate the chicken in yoghurt, ginger-garlic paste and Wingreens Smoked Tandoori Spice Mix.

Cover it and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking method 1: Shallow frying

3a. Heat up oil in a frying pan. Drop in the chicken and fry till golden brown and cooked through.

4a. Arrange the tikkas on skewers or on a baking tray. Drizzle with oil. Bake for 20 minutes at 200ºC or until cooked through.

4b. Tandoori tip: to add that classic smoky flavor to the chicken, put it in the oven (using the broil feature) on high heat for a few minutes until it is nicely charred on top.
